The next Kumite League season started on Friday, February 12th.

The next Natsu Keiko (2010) will be held at the beautiful Wyndham Orlando Resort on July 23, 24 and 25.  There will be lots of karate, weapons and hopefully some more jiu-jitsu training with Sensei Hughes. 

Sunday, December 20th Sempai and I delivered our gifts and groceries to our sponsored family as provided by the Surrey Christmas Bureau.  They were extremely thankful for our thoughtfulness and generosity.  A special thanks to all of you who donated gifts for the draws at our Christmas Dinner and Dance and/or purchased tickets.  All the proceeds from these funfilled draws went towards our sponsored family and the Christmas Bureau.

Friday, December 5th saw our 16th annual Potluck Christmas Dinner and Dance.  As usual it was well attended with a total of 200 diners.  Twelve turkeys were deep fried by Andy Hornal and Sensei.  Everyone else brought food items.  There was so much food and such good food!  This year, to minimize waste, we added take out/home containers for the leftovers.  A well received idea that will continue in years to come.  We were all dazzled by the keyboarding performance of James Nelson of our Adult Class and then the dancing began.  Nest years Dinner is already set for Saturday, November 27, 2010.

Last year's Natsu Keiko (2009) met with success.  Sensei and Sempai both attended.  It was held at the beautiful Wyndham Orlando Resort on July 25, 26 and 27.  There was lots of karate, weapons and some jiu-jitsu training.  Sensei Hughes of Tampa holds dan rank in jiu-jitsu and held several great jiu-jitsu classes throughout the weekend.
